InsideUni Oxbridge viewed 1 million times

We are delighted to announce that InsideUni Oxbridge (insideuni.org) has now been viewed over 1 million times.

InsideUni Oxbridge was co-founded in 2018 by Tommy Gale and Akil Hashmi, who started their student social action project after noticing the inequalities faced by young people applying to Oxford and Cambridge.

InsideUni Oxbridge is a student-led social action project which was started by co-founders Tommy Gale and Akil Hashmi in 2018. They started the initiative to help make Oxford and Cambridge interviews more transparent.

To do this, they crowdsourced current students’ experiences of their Oxbridge interviews and then shared the testimonials for free online. After 5 years of development by our student volunteers, the website now features:

• Interview insights: students’ testimonies of their Oxbridge interview experience
• Guides: student written resource guides about subjects, courses, admissions tests and university life
• Blog posts: student written posts which focus on personal experience about university life and applications

Over 3,500 students have contributed to the website so far, and we have a dedicated team of volunteers who coordinate the crowdsourcing of our content. The website has been used all over the UK, and in 150 countries worldwide.

InsideUni Oxbridge is now part of our wider InsideUni community of student driven projects which crowdsource and share advice from current students about applying to university.

We’re building InsideUni Medicine, an exciting new partnership between InsideUni, the Medical Schools Council & NHS England, to crowdsource and share students’ advice about applying to medical school. We’re also developing programmes for schools across the UK to connect pupils with role model students who are from their local area to deliver first-hand advice and help raise aspirations towards university applications.
