InsideUni is an award-winning social enterprise empowering students to share their first-hand advice about applying to university. Our mission is to ensure that every applicant, no matter their background, has access to the high-quality information they need to get in.
From its beginnings as a student start-up, we’ve scaled InsideUni rapidly into a nationwide non profit with 4,000 student volunteers around the UK and over 150,000 users who have used our content 1 million times.
Now we’re looking to take InsideUni to the next level and deepen our impact across the UK. Our key priorities include scaling up our work with schools and local authorities, increasing our presence at universities nationwide, and investing in creating a game-changing digital platform to take our student community online.
We’re building an inspiring Board of Directors to advise on this expansion and to help us fulfil our ambitious aim of becoming the most-used widening participation programme in the UK. We are looking for exceptional Non-Executive Directors to join the Board with varied experiences including:
- Working in and delivering in schools
- Senior leadership in the social mobility sector
- Senior level experience in widening participation to higher education
- Finance and governance experience in the non-profit sector
- Experience of applying to university as an underrepresented student and/or being part of a volunteer team

Specifics
- Commitment: there are four Board meetings per year. They are held on a weekday evening, last for two hours and take place at our Liverpool office (although Directors can join virtually if necessary). Executive team members may seek advice from NEDs throughout the year.
- Expenses: this is an unpaid role, but expenses incurred in undertaking the role – including travel – are covered.
